Visual novel inspired by Pulp Mothmen 1966 will launch in July 2022

Publisher Chorus Worldwide Games and developer LCB Game Studio announce that Mothmen 1966 launch in July 2022.

Mothmen 1966 launches July 14 on Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch.

The stories follow four characters, a couple named Lee and Victoria, paranormal investigator Lou, and gas station owner Holt who become embroiled in a plot related to the Leonid Meteor Shower, an event that occurs every November. During the year 1966, a number of strange events take place during the meteor shower.

As the trailer shows, the game draws heavy inspiration from early PC titles with its graphical style. They also mention their claim to be inspired by mid-20th century pulp fiction, given the era in which the game is set. Mothmen 1966 plans to be the first in a series of visual novels inspired by 1980s pulps and computer graphics.

It is also slated to be the first of three games in its “volume”, similar to Supermassive Games’ line of titles for their Dark Pictures Anthology. Although at present there is no information about the other two games mentioned.
