U-17 WORLD CUP promotes new visual and PV trailer, premiering July 2022

The upcoming anime The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 WORLD CUP will begin streaming in July 2022. A new key visual and one-minute PV trailer from the franchise’s final season spotlight the anime’s main characters.

It will be the first The Prince of Tennis 2 TV anime since 2012. The last installment set to take place after the events of the 2014 OVA The Prince of Tennis II OVA vs. Genius10. A separate 3DCG movie located between The Prince of Tennis and The Prince of Tennis 2 will also hit North American theaters later this year.

The main voice is made up of Junko Minagawa like Ryōma Echizen, Ryoutarou Okiayu like Kunimitsu Tezuka, Hiroki Yasumoto as Hōō Byōdōin, Junichi Suwabe like Keigo Atobe, Sachiko Nagai like Seiichi Yukimura, Yoshimasa Hosoya like Kuranosuke Shiraishi, Tarusuke Shingaki as Eishirō Kite, and Mamoru Miyano like Ryōga Echizen.

The film’s production team is led by Keiichiro Kawaguchi (Higurashi: When they cry – GOU, Higurashi: When they cry – Sotsu) as a director, Akiharu Ishii (nobility) as character designer and chief animation director, Mitsutaka Hirota (EDENS ZERO) as a series screenwriter, Yuuko Tsumori (2.43: Seiin High School Boys’ Volleyball Team) as a color creator, Akira Itō (Lord El-Melloi II’s Case Files {Rail Zeppelin} Grace note) as artistic director, Yuuta Nakamura (My teen romantic comedy SNAFU Climax!) as director of photography, and Chihiro Tamaki (Ongaku Shojo) as a music composer. Kai Studio and MSc are in charge of the animation production of the film.

The Prince of Tennis the manga series was created by Takeshi Konomi in 1999. The ongoing sequel, The Prince of Tennis 2was first released in 2009. 35 tankoubon volumes have been released so far.

The sports franchise has spawned several anime series, OVAs, and movies. The first one king of tennis The television anime ran from 2001 to 2007.
