Tedeschi Trucks Band presents the first of four visual albums of “I Am The Moon”, “Crescent” [Watch]

Tedeschi truck band officially kicked off an ambitious album cycle on Tuesday with the premiere of Increasingthe first of four installments in a sprawling new visual album, I am the moonwhich should be deployed during this summer.

The fifth and most ambitious studio project of Tedeschi Trucks Band’s decorated career, I am the moon consists of four albums, four films and 24 original songs. Inspired by a mythical Persian tale of star-crossed lovers and driven by pandemic-era isolation and disconnection, I am the moon totals more than two hours of new music from Derek Trucks– and Susan Tedeschi-12pcs LEDs.

Increasing kicks off with the introspective “Hear My Dear” as hazy, dynamic animations set the stage for a particular brand of vintage surrealism. As the film progresses in Mike Mattison-led “Fall In,” a devilish celebration with a sing-along chorus, viewers get some glimpses of both the track’s recording process and a thematic live performance amid gritty cuts and kaleidoscopic embellishments .

Gabe Dixon and Susan Tedeschi squirm around each other wistfully Increasing centerpiece, “I Am The Moon,” before driving drums and searing horns ushering in Trucks’ slide guitar howl once again for “Circles ‘Round The Sun,” a road-weary track set to smoldering images courtesy of the director by Alix Lambert and editor Lizzie Minges.

The essence of I Am the Moon: Episode I. Crescent comes in the form of “Pasaquan,” the hair-raising instrumental that takes up the film’s final 12 minutes. Originally introduced by Tedeschi Trucks Band last year Fireside sessionsthe twisty composition unleashes the full power of Trucks and Company’s sonic steam engine as they circumvent the eccentric spirituality of the song’s namesake, Pasaquan, the 7-acre resort near Buena Vista, GA adorned with stylized mosaics by Eddie Owens Martina.k.a Holy Moe.

The slow deployment of I am the moon continues with the release of Increasing audio on digital platforms and CDs this Friday, June 1st. The group will publish II. Ascent, III. The falland IV. Goodbye on a monthly basis throughout the summer. All vinyl configurations including single LPs and 4-LP Luxury box I am the moon will be available on September 9, 2022.
