Daiki Fukuoka (Radiant series director) is directing the anime, with Yasuko Aoki (Radiant screenwriter) as a screenwriter, Saori Hosoda (Mieruko-chan chief animation director) as character designer, and me (red data girl music co-composer) as a music composer. Studio Gokumi is the animation production company.

The original manga was first published on December 28, 2017, and has released five tankoubon volumes in total as of May 25, 2022. It currently airs in Ichijinsha’s Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine under the Zero Sum Comics label. Kodansha USA publishes the manga in English.

Penguin Random House describes the manga as follows:

Yuuya, one half of male pop duo ZINGS, is perhaps the laziest performer in the Japanese music industry. His partner gives 110% every night, but Yuya’s sloppy dancing and downright hostile attitude towards the public makes fans hate him and his agent looks for an excuse to release him. The career of a pop idol just isn’t the easy leisure path Yuya expected…

After a particularly lackluster concert appearance, Yuya meets a girl backstage. All she expects from life is to perform. There’s just one problem: she’s been dead for a year.
