New visual effects coming to Nami and her skins in League Patch 12.10
Riot Games dives deep with new visual effects updates for many League of Legends’ older champions, this time targeting a fish that has spent a little too long out of the water.
Riot Zhanos announced the League PBE subreddit that Nami will see many of her visual effects updated, targeting a release on live servers in patch 12.10. She will join Twisted Fate as champions receiving these reworks during this patch, in which Riot hopes to make the skins and abilities of older champions clearer by modern standards.
A teaser video for Nami’s VFX updates shows off the new look of her abilities and basic attacks. It also highlights a few of Nami’s old skins that will be tweaked with new effects. Recent Nami skins, such as Bewitching and Cosmic Destiny, will not receive any new animations. Other skins will be tweaked slightly with the new ability animations present in Nami’s base skin.
Koi Nami, which was released alongside Nami in 2012, will be her only skin to get a complete visual effects overhaul. This will include new animations and recoloring of several of his abilities to fit his “koi” theme. It is unclear if this skin’s callback animation will be changed.
Nami’s resurgence in pro play in late 2021 and early this year was caused by a powerful synergy with Lucian in the bot lane. Players chose to bring Electrocute on the Tidecaller instead of the normal Summon Aery or Guardian options, proccing when she uses her E on Lucian even though she’s not there. As the pick fell after taking over the meta, he created one of the strongest bot lane pairs in recent times. League the story.
These VFX changes for Nami should be available soon for testing on the PBE and released to live servers with patch 12.10 on May 25th. Players can also expect the large-scale durability update to League in patch 12.10, addressing some of the major damage and healing issues plaguing the game.
