New Digimon Survive Video Focuses On Turn-Based Strategy And Visual Novel Gameplay

New gameplay for the highly anticipated Digimon Survive is revealed, showcasing its turn-based strategy and visual novel segments.

Bandai Namco Entertainment Digimon Survive was a long time coming for fans of the digital monster franchise. Originally slated for 2019, several factors forced the game to be delayed and miss several targeted release dates. It was only about a month ago that Digimon SurviveThe release date of has been confirmed. This highly anticipated game will finally arrive to fans later this summer on July 29th.

Some of the delays come from Digimon Survivethe ambitious narrative scope and variety of gameplay on offer. This includes multiple endings based on player choices. These choices could also affect a Digimon’s digivolution process or even potentially kill off the game’s main characters. The game will primarily feature visual novel sequences with turn-based strategy RPG combat. Both of these gameplay styles were showcased in a recent video.

This new Digimon Survive The video was shown at a Korean convention known as Rulicon 2022, with a few minutes of gameplay shown. The video was introduced by Chief Producer Kazumasa Habu, with the video being released at this event due to the Digimonthe growing popularity of the brand in the region. Although the video is short, it gives fans an in-depth look at what to expect from the game in terms of strategy choices and visual novel.

It features the protagonist of Digimon Survive, Takuma, making a narrative choice, as well as Agumon and a new Digimon called Falcomon. After the brief visual novel segment, the video switches to the turn-based strategy part, already in the middle of the battle. It shows how players can take advantage of certain positions on the battlefield, such as being on the enemy’s side or behind to deal greater damage to a spider-like Digimon enemy.

In the middle of the battle, there is a cutscene that shows Digivolutions will occur during battles in Digimon Survive. This is featured with the ever-classic Agumon evolving into the iconic Greymon, with a mix of 3D and 2D animation in the process. There are a lot of fans who are incredibly excited for this release after so many delays, and being able to see some of the gameplay fuels that hype even more.

Digimon Survive will be released on July 29 on PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One.
