While the Scorpio Classic is a diesel-only model, the Scorpio N will receive both petrol and diesel powertrains

  • The Scorpio Classic seems to be a basic version.

  • Its minimal camouflage revealed the steel wheels and black bits all around.

  • The Scorpio Classic will remain on sale alongside the next-generation model.

  • Mahindra will launch the Scorpio N on June 27.

The Mahindra Scorpio N continues to be spotted in camouflage gear ahead of its June 27 launch. This time though, it was seen alongside its previous iteration, rebranded as Scorpio Classic.

The Scorpio Classic, seen with minimal camouflage, was a base model, as suggested by the black door handles and side cladding, and the steel wheels. Although it gets the same projector headlamp setup and design for the alloy wheels, the Classic will get a new grille pattern, modified front bumper and new-age Mahindra logo.

Moving on to the Scorpio N, we can see how the SUV has changed in terms of design compared to its old version. Sure, the new Scorpio is more upscale and modern, but it retained some trademark cues like the slatted grille design, projector headlamp configuration and a large air dam in the front bumper. . The next-generation SUV also gets a major redesign inside the cabin and more premium features like LED lighting, a larger touchscreen and dual-zone climate control.

Mahindra Scorpion N

Mahindra is currently selling the Scorpion from Rs 13.54 lakh to Rs 18.62 lakh. We think the Scorpio N might cost more than Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). Where the former faces compact SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and Skoda Kushaq, the latter will also find competition from the Hyundai Alcazar and Tata Safari, while being an affordable alternative to the Toyota Fortuner.
