The series placed 19th out of 50 at the Next Manga Awards in 2020, then jumped to 7th place at the same awards the following year. US publisher VIZ Media licensed the series towards the end of 2021 and released the first volume earlier this year. When Kubo sits next to Shiraishi during their freshman year of high school, Shiraishi’s non-existent social skills are boosted. Speaking in class is just the beginning for Shiraishi – soon Kubo is forcing her to get noticed at school, at the bookstore, and all over town. Shiraishi’s once dull life isn’t so boring anymore!
